EXPERIENCE

INTERNET NETWORK ENGINEER Global Village Computing, Inc. d.b.a. Digiscape Communications, Davie, FL. Company changed name to Stonedom , Inc. to avoid confusion with other companies named 'Digiscape.' Worked as an Internet Consultant for various Internet Service and Content Providers. Designed and set up various TCP/IP network systems including switched and routed Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, and FDDI networks. Configured hardware and software for network servers and workstations. Programmed using PERL, C, and BASH. Managed Web Designers, Programmers and Technical Support Personnel.  

INTERNET NETWORK ENGINEER / MICROSYSTEMS SPECIALIST,Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., Miami, FL.Created the Royal Caribbean Web Site’s "nuts and bolts." Designed the entire hardware system and wrote the Capital Acquisition Request Forms for all of the hardware and software pieces for the entire project. Installed all of the hardware and software. Installed T-1, DSU/CSU and routers and worked directly with the ISP to set-up the hardware, contact InterNic with the domain and routing information. Designed, Purchased, Installed, and Maintained the site. Designed the network, evaluated and decided on the proper equipment needed for the site. Installed higher level apps for the site including Netscape Server, inn, listproc, pop mail, sendmail, and irc.

Responsible for, maintained, programmed, updated software and operating systems in the following computers and systems in the Network Services Department including the following:

  In charge of the LAN security using the SunSparc5 running Firewall-1 software
  Two RS/6000 E-20’s running all of the Internet apps. Ran cron jobs for reporting purposes. Programmed in PERL, korn shell, C, and HTML to keep the Web Site new and running properly. Installed "electronic post cards," a series of PERL scripts that I heavily modified to fit the site and work error free. Installed global chat onto the server and wrote the necessary attachments to make it work on the Internet.
  AT&T UNIX Intel System with Conversant and Audix Voice Mail administration. Required to keep in operation to work with internal database and file transfers from AS/400 nightly through a cron job. Debugged and programmed custom scripts for database for the Passenger Services Department. Worked with different ports on the machine.
  AT&T G3 and G2, worked with T-1’s, set up 800 numbers, VDNs, DNISs, hunt groups, etc.
  Coordinated with back-up people to back up (and restore if necessary) all of the systems including the UNIX systems on the network.
  Ran two primary DNS servers on the LAN using Sun SparcStations running Solaris 2.x, one internal and one external to the LAN on the opposite side of the firewall. Designed, configured and maintained all of the IP addresses through DNS scripting.
  Worked with UNIX network printers, cron, rc files, inetd, sendmail, NIS, and NFS.
  Configured all of the TCP/IP workstations and servers to work properly on the network.
  Helped to support over 1500 PCs, printers and servers on site and on the WAN network which includes international and ship-to-shore/shore-to-ship data communications.
  Worked on telecommunication satellite projects including database servers, networks, and data transfer.
  Internet and Network Technical Consultant for the Marketing Department. Worked closely with Marketing Department to insure a smooth running Internet Web Site. Trained many personnel in Marketing to use Internet tools, HTML, FTP, Telnet, and other TCP/IP apps.
  On-site Macintosh person using system 6.07, 7.0 and 7.5.
  Personally configured and maintained all of the Executive Departments’ Computers.
  Set up and responsible for SunSparc20 running Spectrum software for network SNMP information. Trained Data Center Services Personnel on the observation and recognition of the LAN environment on Spectrum.
  Responsible for emps machine, a Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) database report product in SCO UNIX. Set up workstations to communicate with emps machine via Telnet on a token ring network.
  Managed Move/Add/Change Form group of contractors. Responsible for user problems and priority queue as well technical advisor to a group of from 3 to 8 contractors
  Trouble shooter for network SNA(DLCC), IPX, and TCPIP traffic.
  Proficient in Novell 3.12 Network management of printers and accounts. Worked with TCP/IP routing, autoexec.ncf and NLMs.
  Configured Cisco 7000, 2501, 2500 routers throughout the network including Source Route Bridging of DLCC for AS/400 machines.
  Configured and maintained printers, PCs, and servers using Windows 3.1, 3.11, 95, and NT.
  Worked with Shiva modems connected to the LAN and the Internet.
  Worked on ISDN methods of data and voice transfer.
  Responsible for Cabletron Intelligent Hubs.

INTERNET NETWORK ENGINEER / MACINTOSH C PROGRAMMER, Social Issues Resources Series, Inc., Boca Raton, FL.
  Designed and set up the entire Internet Site for SIRS. Wrote the project plan and implemented the entire project.
  Assisted ISP in the installation of the digital leased line, CSU/DSU and router.
  Configured most of the internal machines (250 Macs, PCs, RS/6000s and other UNIX Boxes) to work properly with TCP/IP and therefore, the Internet.
  Configured and managed the DNS server using Novell UnixWare.
  Routed all TCP/IP traffic through the Novell Netware 3.12 routers.
  Worked closely with Marketing Department as the resident "Internet/UNIX specialist" to guarantee flawless Internet customer communications and information retrieval.
  Set up a listproc listserver with a few separate lists.
  Set up the firewall using a Sun SparcStation10 and Firewall-1.
  Wrote Macintosh application programs in C/C++ and Pascal.
  Wrote to database that included many newspaper and magazine articles.
  Set up and wrote to CD-ROM to mass produce for software distribution of large software applications.
