How do I stream my Real Audio, Video, Movie files?

a) Upload, via FTP, the real audio, video, or movie files (.ra, .rv, .rm) into the /home/<username>/real directory on your site.

Note: Do not create a /real directory in your home directory if you do not have one.  You must request to have real audio setup for your site or it will not work.

These files must be encoded using the Real Encoder 5.1 product on your PC.  If you are using a Real Encoder G2, your files will not run on our servers since we do not yet offer Real Server G2.
You can find out information on how to purchase the Real Encoder 5.1 product here.

b) Create a .ram file using a simple text editor (like Notepad) and FTP upload it into your /virtual_html directory for each real audio, real movie, or real video file you want to have on your site.
Do not create the .ram file using a word processor!

Put this line in your .ram file:

  pnm://<yourdomainname.com>:7070/<username>/live.ra

Where <yourdomain.com> is your domain name and <username> is your web site user name and
<real audio filename> is the name of the real audio or real video or real movie file you will upload in to the /home/<username>/real directory.

Only put one of these lines in each .ram file and one .ram file for each audio, video, or movie file you want.

c) In your html page, make a link to the .ram file that you created to load the specific real file you want.
